Toss Or Keep? My Eyeshadow Palette Collection Clean-out

Being unemployed has been great when it comes to cleaning my apartment and organizing my beauty stash. I’ve accumulated so many eyeshadow palettes over several years and I’m way overdue for a clean-out! The beauty product hoarder in me wants to keep them all but in order to make room for new palettes, I need to make some cuts. Here’s a quick list of what I’m going to toss and what I’m planning to keep as I go through my eyeshadow palette collection cleanout. And to clarify, I’m not actually going to throw away any palettes.

5 Beauty Products I Purchased And Now Regret

I’ve been hard at work de-cluttering my beauty vanity and storage space at home. As I sift through products in my stash, I realized quite a few I splurged on that I wish I hadn’t and I thought that would be beneficial to share. The purpose of this post is not intended to bash any of these brands or products. I’m here to share my honest opinion about products I tried that simply did not work well for me.

My Five-Minute Makeup Routine

You’d think that since I haven’t been working full-time that I would have plenty of time for a glamorous makeup routine but the reality is this: I rarely leave my house. Being broke and unemployed is difficult. Even on days when I have to run errands I don’t like to bother with an elaborate makeup routine.  Let me tell you about my updated five-minute makeup routine.

5 Skincare Products I’m Obsessed With

The past few weeks have been pretty rough for me—between the anxiety of looking for a new job, injuring my back, and dealing with a never-ending cold, it seems as though my bad luck streak continues. On the bright side, I have much more time on my hands to dedicate to a fool-proof skincare routine.  Sticking to a daily beauty routine has been therapeutic for me. I’ve been careful about incorporating new products because unlike my life, my skin is pretty happy right now.

Fall Beauty Haul: What I Got During The Sephora Sale

I did not intend to get so many beauty products during the Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale but it’s been so long since I did a fall beauty haul and I was in serious need of a few products in particular. I was able to save 15% and hit the minimum spend to renew my beauty insider membership for 2019. Woohoo! Most of my purchases were in the makeup and hair category and I can’t wait to incorporate these into my beauty routine.  My first impressions are below!Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: I haven’t used a tinted moisturizer in quite a while but anything that says “dewy finish” on a gondola in Sephora ends up in my cart.

Bag Love: Leather Tote Bags From Madewell, Cuyana And Everlane

Lately, I’ve got leather tote bags on my mind. For someone like me who typically wears cross body bags all year round, this is quite a statement. Before my trip to Atlanta in August, I decided last minute I would not be taking with me my beloved Louis Vuitton Neverfull. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful bag and a great investment.

Sephora Beauty Insider Event + Recommendations

It’s sale time! Sephora is having a special event to celebrate their Beauty Inside Program and they are offering discounts for all Sephora Beauty Insider Members! Not too long ago, I shared why I like to spend my money at Ulta on the blog; however, every time Sephora offers special discounts for members, I never pass up the opportunity. These are one of the few perks of being a Sephora Beauty Insider member so you can save 10-20% on your purchase. Note: For this event you can redeem your offer with promo code once online, but you can use it in stores an unlimited amount of times. As a beauty product junkie, I know how easy it can is to get swept up in the hype of a good sale (especially one of the Sephora Beauty Insider events) and want to scoop up anything and every thing… but not this year.

3 Takeaways From The Blog Societies Conference

Earlier this month I attended The Blog Societies Conference, also known as TBSCon, for a second year in a row. The Blog Societies is a blogger community that I joined back in January of 2017 and the annual conference is a members-only conference that’s filled with networking opportunities, workshops, keynote speakers, and a gifting suite.  All the conference activities this year were taking place at The Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta, Georgia. Unfortunately, I missed out on Day 1 of TBSCon, the Welcome Party, due to my horrific, unnecessary 8-hour ordeal with Southwest.

Why A Scrunchie Is The Best Hair Accessory

When was the last time you wore a scrunchie? I think I was 16 the last time I reached for one and it was only because I couldn’t find a hair tie in my room so I took the closest hair accessory off my mom’s vanity—a bright colored scrunchie. At The Blog Societies Conference, Goody Hair was a sponsor and they graciously gifted us with a pack of scrunchies—the 80s marvel of a hair accessory. At first I couldn’t help but chuckle because I did not know these were still around and then, I misplaced my trusty little hair clip and found myself left depending on none other than a scrunchie. And it was the best decision because I’ve basically fallen back in love with them.

Life Updates

I’m a firm believer that bad (and good) things happen in threes. It started last week, before my trip to The Blog Societies Conference (what I also refer to as TBSCon), when I went to my first Orangetheory Fitness class as part of my membership and I strained a muscle in my back while working out on the floor. It immediately started hurting after this core/arm exercise. This happened a week ago Sunday.
