Beauty Guide: Order Of Makeup Application

I always blog about my favorite makeup products but I’ve never actually shared my order of makeup application. There are no rules to how you apply your makeup (except for maybe a few fundamental guidelines) but if you want to make sure your makeup look lasts all day, there are a few tips and tricks that will help just based on order of makeup application alone. Of course, before you apply any makeup, make sure you’ve applied your skincare essentials. For the sake of this post, I excluded it from the beginning (but check out this post in which I share the correct order to applying your skincare products).

7 Essential Hair Products I Can’t Live Without

Let me just state something obvious: I’m no hair expert. Ironic, right? I write a beauty blog, but if you’re a regular, then you probably notice I rarely write about hair. Aside from tousled waves or using a flat iron, my hairstyling skills are pretty basic. But I’ve always been a product hoarder so I have been around the block when it comes to trying a myriad of products.

It’s no secret I have an affinity for designer handbags. Earlier this year, I shared my best tips for buying pre-owned designer handbags. Since then, I scooped up a couple more handbags for fall (like this gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff that I got during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale) and now this vegan leather Stella McCartney Falabella Tote in a beautiful metallic finish. But here’s a little secret: I got this handbag on sale at Neiman Marcus.

Beauty Bridge Haul + Review

Aside from Sephora and Ulta, where else do you shop to discover and buy beauty products? I was recently introduced to Beauty Bridge, a multi-channel beauty retailer of skincare, mineral cosmetics, bath and body, fragrances, hair, and nail care products. As a beauty blogger, I receive hundreds of pitches a week but this particular email caught my attention when they name dropped some of the beauty brands they sell on their website. They offered to send me a few products to try and that pretty much sealed the deal. I was really impressed with its catalog of high-end beauty brands and how easy it was to browse the Beauty Bridge website to discover new products and brands.

How To Transition Your Skincare Routine From Summer To Fall

Do you seasonally update your skincare routine? If the answer is no, then we’ve got some work to do! Seasonally updating your skincare routine (products included) will make a huge difference once winter weather creeps in (I know, way too early to talk about winter skincare). In the meantime, here are some tips on how to transition your skincare routine from summer to fall. Avoid taking hot showers—especially when you wash your face. My husband will attest, I love taking long, steamy showers but I always make sure to turn back the dial to a lukewarm temperature when I cleanse my face.

That Time I Got Eyelash Extensions At Brightwater Spa

It’s been one week and I have yet to apply a coat of mascara. Why? Oh—because mascara is dead. Look what you made me do… I got eyelash extensions! (Ha, like my T-Swift song reference?)I recently got them after years of wondering what it would be like to wake up with long, lush and dark eyelashes without having to use a mascara wand. I went to Brightwater Spa (located in my neighborhood of Columbia, MD) to get Bella Lashes, and the talented lash expert Shannon Ross applied them.

Fall Beauty Checklist: Drugstore Makeup Favorites

I could spend forever in the drugstore makeup aisle. I’m not sure if it’s because I love discovering new products, or because I’m just really indecisive. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some high-end holy grail products, but today I’m sharing my tried and true drugstore makeup favorites for eyes, lips and face.
