Winter Lip Service With Sara Happ

Dry lips, who dis? Everyone in winter. With a myriad of products on the market that promise to save and hydrate our precious pout, we decided to ask the OG lip expert, Sara Happ, creator of the original lip scrub and other vital products for all of our lip-loving needs, how to get our pucker to stay hydrated, smooth, and kissable, despite the climate. Beauty Banter: Why do our lips get so much more dehydrated in winter? Sara Happ: Harsh weather, travel, and more! Our lips are the only part of our body lacking oil glands, so they really can’t help themselves. They are going to dry out if you don’t topically hydrate them, and cold wind zipping past them really doesn’t help the cause.

[Update] I Tried A No Spend Month And Here’s What Happened

You’ve heard me share my decision to do a no spend month on my blog, in my email newsletter and on social media. As we approach the end of the month, I thought it would be helpful to dive a little deeper into why I did this in the first place, how I saved my money and what I learned from this experience. Before I share how I executed my no spend month, let’s talk about how I got to this point in the first place.  In August of last year I endured an unexpected layoff at my full-time job.

Weekly Must-Have: Revlon Oval One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizing Styler

Few things make me feel more attractive than a classic, bouncy blowout.   I literally feel like a new person when I walk out of the doors of my preferred blowout bar (DreamDry for New Yorkers, FYI).   Unfortunately, however, I am completely and utterly inept at styling my own hair.  When a professional does my hair, I ask for a “princess blowout” a la Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

5 Favorite Podcasts Featuring Glossier

I keep thinking of ways to introduce this post or explain how this topic came to be. Simply put, I’m a huge fan of Glossier—the brand, the business, the products. I’ve been reading Into the Gloss since Emily Weiss was only posting twice a week, then became a loyal customer of Glossier skincare and makeup products, and now here I am wearing a Glossier sweatshirt as I write this blog post. I love listening to podcasts while I’m at my 9 to 5.
