NYC Glossier Showroom Visit + Haul

How was your weekend? My husband I traveled to Brooklyn for an early celebration of our 3rd wedding anniversary. We also made a quick visit to celebrate our nephew’s first birthday just north of the city!I’ve been very eager to visit the NYC Glossier Showroom since it first opened; however, the opportunity never presented itself until now. Somehow I was able to convince my husband to willingly go into Manhattan and patiently wait in line with me so I could experience the showroom. He’s a great husband.

Dry brushing seems to be the latest health craze (just take a look on your Instagram feed). While the technique has been around for centuries (it’s the oldest body care trick in the book — quite literally!), its recent resurgence can be attributed to newfound celebrity and influencer raves — and skincare companies creating and promoting products to appease the demand. But what exactly does dry brushing do? Good question. We turned to one of our absolute favorite facialists, Joanna Vargas, Celebrity Facialist and Founder of Joanna Vargas Salon and Skincare Collection, to break down the benefits of dry brushing.

5 Fall Hair Masks

Considering the amount of havoc we wreak on our hair on a daily basis, we probably only give it a fraction of the TLC it deserves. From highlighting and blow drying to straightening and ponytails – we put our mane through some serious abuse. Not to mention changing weather, colder, drier conditions, wind, rain, even snow (gasp!) — we’re lucky our strands aren’t entirely revolting. While the best way to keep hair healthy is to avoid all of the above damage-causers, that’s not exactly realistic.

Favorites: Thayers Witch Hazel Toning Towelettes

Is there anything better than Witch Hazel? That’s a rhetorical question because, obviously, Witch Hazel is the best toner for every single skin type. From sensitive to oily, Witch Hazel naturally soothes, cleanses, and tones the skin. It’s one of those magical beauty ingredients that skincare enthusiasts can’t get enough of and Thayers’ Witch Hazel is a game-changer. The alcohol-free formula contains Certified Organic Witch Hazel that is sourced from a family farm in Fairfield County, Connecticut and made the old-fashioned way – it’s not distilled, so it contains 195% more tannins, which are naturally occurring substances found in the bark and skin of some plants, including Witch Hazel.

Products To Firm And Tighten

So much of our anti-aging efforts are focused on fine lines and wrinkles, when in reality, loss of elasticity and sagging skin is just as troublesome. A high ponytail like is a foolproof way to make your visage look taught and lifted. But it’s not like you can live your life with your hair always in a high pony — we’re not Ariana Grande! While there is certainly no quick fix for loss of elasticity, you can certainly choose product formulations which will improve the sagging-skin situation. Here are our top five product pics to firm, tighten, and lift – no needle required.

Weekly Must-Have: Becca Volcano Goddess Eyeshadow Palette

Twelve eye shadows, three color schemes, three finishes — that’s what the Becca Volcano Goddess Eyeshadow Palette offers — and I’m loving it. So, I’m a b it disappointed to see that the palette received so many negative reviews on Sephora. Let me clear this up ASAP since the people who seem to be bummed about the palette wanted pigmented metallics: these metallics are not pigmented…at all. Which, by the way, I don’t mind because I think just a hint of glitter makes them more wearable.

Being unemployed has been great when it comes to cleaning my apartment and organizing my beauty stash.
