Under $10: Drugstore Mascaras

Who doesn’t relish a beauty deal? Sure, there are certain products that require shelling out some serious cash (like your retinol face creams and your designer fragrances), but then there are other products that have a short shelf life, so you are required to repeat purchase. Mascara is one of those. Considering that the life of a mascara is around 3 months – sometimes shorter depending on how many times you use it in a day – and that new formulas are constantly being introduced, this is the ideal product to purchase at drugstore prices. After all, we all like options, and when it comes to mascara, there never is a “perfect” formula which means it’s all about trial-and-error.

CREATIVE Things To Do With Liquid Lipstick.. Meng Meng

1: Why not wear your lipstick completely off center like in the image above?  Similar concepts were used for kabuki and greek theatre masks to convey multiple personalities or sometimes a character’s “double” face.  Plus Comme des Garcons sent models down their Fall 2004 runway show in this exact style and since Rei can do no wrong, it’s at least worth a try. 2: Liquid lipstick makes for a great eyelid stain.  Choose the color wisely and start by dabbing on a tiny amount and blending quickly.

Trending: The Half-Up Top Knot

Remember when the top knot was all the rage? Well, top knot, you’ve got some stiff competition, and it comes in the form of the slightly more feminine and sexy AF half-up top knot, as worn on the heads of Kourtney Kardashian, Lily Aldridge, and Kim Kardashian. This super flattering style adds a few extra inches in the vertical direction, and it’s relatively simple to achieve. To recreate, take the front half of your hair and gather at the crown of your head (the higher, the better). Use a rubber band to secure.

My Favorite Full Coverage Concealer

Would you ever splurge on a tube of $25 concealer? If you ever decide to, make sure it’s this Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape Contour Concealer. It’s the best full coverage concealer I’ve tried to date, and I’m obsessed with the long-wear finish! I purchased the “Fair Neutral” shade and I was pretty happy with the pigment. The doe-foot applicator is strangely oversized but somehow just works the way I want it to (so I can control how much product I’m dispensing under my eye). I’ve found that if I apply small dots in a pie shape and the blend with my BeautyBlender (remember the pounce method) it has a nice natural looking finish.
